Life Is Art Showcases South Florida at The Shops at Boca Center on April 30th, 2011

A full day of art, music, fashion, performance and more!

Right now, South Florida is one of the most exciting and dynamic emerging art scenes in the world. With numerous art walks popping up all over the area, many mega art fairs and festivals, and the largest art week in the world, the eye of the art world is focused squarely on South Florida. Yet, much of the local talent is left out of the explosion of artistic opportunity. South Florida is the home of many, many truly talented artists, all with their own unique voice and style, but it seems as if, in our rush to be a big-time player on the world art stage, we sometimes forget what we have right here.

Life Is Art, through the support of The Shops at Boca Center and StarMar Events, inaugurates the first Life Is Art Boca Center South Florida Artist Fair to celebrate and showcase what our area has to offer. This is a day filled with art and entertainment, featuring dozens of accomplished south Florida artists of all types, from emerging to experienced to world-renowned. The event also includes live music, fashion shows and even circus performances, all for free!

“This is a great way for The Shops at Boca Center to give back to the community,” states Candace Goldstein, manager of the center. The Shops at Boca Center, an upscale luxury shopping and fine dining center, is donating the space for the art fair. James Echols, co-founder of Life Is Art, said, “We are very excited about this opportunity to expand our mission of supporting the south Florida art community.” Life Is Art is a non-profit founded in January of 2009 that is dedicated to providing opportunity for south Florida artists. All of this is made possible through the support of StarMar Events; a comprehensive Event consulting, production and management firm. “When Life Is Art approached us with their needs for this event, we were more than happy to contribute to such a worthy cause and organization” states Marlene Quincoces, Chief Planning Officer.

This will be a full day of arts, culture and entertainment. With over forty visual artists represented, there will be a feast for the eyes. However, it does not stop there. Fab C Productions is producing two fashion shows and will be showcasing several south Florida based designers with cool vintage fashions. Motivational Edge, a music non-profit serving children, is bringing their student band, SoMeTiMeS Y to perform.

To tantalize your taste buds, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly is doing a free tasting for all attendees. Renda Writer, publisher of WeMerge Magazine, is going to be doing a live poetry reading. As if all this were not enough, there is even going to be a circus performance! Rainbow Circus, a premiere south Florida performance troupe, is going to be performing live acts of amazement. The day tops off with live music by Krisp, a hot local band playing your favorites and original numbers. DJ Silvio will be supplying the tunes all day to create a perfect background for the event.

This is truly an event not to be missed. The Shops at Boca Center are located at 5150 Town Center Circle in Boca Raton, FL 33486. The fair is taking place in the lush courtyard, surrounding the fountain. It is happening Saturday, April 30th, 2011 from 10:00am to 7:00pm, or later. Admission is free and open to the public. Seminar Description:
You probably do not understand Copyright. Almost nobody does. It is a commonly misunderstood law and does not work the way most people think it does. Faudlin is going to break it down for the non-lawyer. This is VERY important information for all artists and anyone involved in the creative process. This seminar will give you a much better idea about how copyright works, what it protects, and what it does not protect.

Faudlin Pierre Bio:
Faudlin Pierre is a South Florida native. He received a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and his law degree from the University of Kentucky. He is admitted to practice law in the state of Florida and his admission is pending with the United States Southern District Court of Florida. Mr. Pierre litigates and transacts on behalf of his clients. He has written legal articles for Sports Business Journal, negotiated sponsorship agreements with companies such as Nike & Adidas, and has advise various athletes on the legal repercussions of their potential actions.

The night opens with time for socializing and networking with complimentary beverages and bites provided by Life Is Art. After the seminar, there is time for further specific questions and more networking. This is an excellent opportunity to come meet other working artists and arts professionals from around the area.
