Antonia Wright

I am submitting a video art installation, When I Was Little I wanted to Live in a Tree, It is Fun Watching You Paint, and The Love Capitalist. I propose to play three videos on a loop, with a painted television and dvd player. All three will be for sale and one art piece. These three videos are all performance pieces shot in New York City. They are explorations on color, the art making process, and the art of getting very dirty. This work, like all my art, investigates interpersonal connections to our surroundings and why we, both collectively and individually, have become so separated from nature.
Antonia Wright is a Miami born, Cuban-America artist, whose work employs photography, poetry, performance, installation, video art and the interaction between these forms. Her pieces are ‘social experiments’, highlighting the bizarre within the everyday façade of the ‘normal’. Much of her work investigates interpersonal connections to our surroundings and why we, both collectively and individually, do the things we do.
She received an M.F.A. in poetry from the New School University and is a graduate from the International Center of Photography’s General Studies Program. Antonia’s work has been featured in numerous group shows including Amnesty International’s exposé on Cuban-American artists in Los Angeles. She is also the curator of the The Keys Project, an ongoing multi-city venture whose aim is to document and collect keys and portraits of their possessors.

Rainer Lagemann

I use metal squares to sculpt the human form, creating works that elicit both the strength and delicacy of the body. Started welding in the fall of 2005. It became an obsession right away. Once I found my medium, I finally could start to express what I had learned in the last 25 years in schools, museums, travels, people and in my dreams. I concentrate on the human body in a modern interpretation of the classic art of sculpture.

Bio: My name is Oliver Dominguez, I was born and raised in Miami, FL and my background is Colombian. My work has appeared in the pages of Men’s Styles Australia magazine, Gulf Coast 500 Business, CMYK and the Society of Illustrators 50, to name a few. I pride myself in solving my client’s visual problems, both conceptually and aesthetically.

Currently, as an artist, I am always intrigued by different mediums of the past, present and future. Everyday, I dedicate my life in search of inspirations, motivations and influences that can make me a better artist. I have discovered that American history has a lot of influential pioneers in the art world. My admiration of the American Illustration masters like Howard Pyle, Norman Rockwell, and N.C. Wyeth, and many more, who were pioneers in their time, have inspired me through my arts. In my illustration process I learned to take an actual personal experience and translate it into my own artistic language. I was very pleased with my work during my education in Ringling College of Art and Design and believe this is a great starting point to my career as an editorial illustrator.
I hope that my artistic inner voice and education, and continuing self education will lead me to become one of the great masters of my time. I will continue to research and dedicate my future to my personal legend as an artist and most importantly illustrator.

I am primarily a selftaught photographic artist with the exception of seven years as a Navy Photographer. I am a purist in regards to the fact that I use a creative process and aproach to achieving my images rather then relying the modernn tools of technology. Although I shoot digitally my intentions are to remain as true to the traditional techniques of film photography. I feel that for me the process is just as important as the image itself.

Award winning Brazilian-American visual artist Alissa Christine channels the true essence of beauty through her work and draws inspiration from the pure and simple joys of life. Recognized for her professional editorial and commercial photography, Alissa’s art spans various mediums with the innovative fusion of photography, lighting, movement, painting and display.

“i love miami 365™ : daily photo documentary” is a year-long art photo book project where every day of 2008 was photographed by Alissa Christine in celebration of life witnessed at any moment. Each photo is captioned with a personal commentary along with the title, date, time and place.

The mission: to stimulate consciousness and gratitude of the beauty of everyday life through photography. Alissa showcases her love of The Magic City weaving together thoughts and inspirations, cultures and diversions, friends and strangers, locations and vibrations — including visions not typically seen in the mass media. Some shoots were planned, some were guerilla encounters, and some days were serendipitous surprises.

The project also included interactive photo exhibits monthly throughout the year, with a self-produced grand finale aerial photo shoot of her celebration at the Standard Miami pool from an Ultralight airplane.

Accolades include being selected as one of South Florida’s Power Players of the Year in 2009 by Florida International Magazine and winning first place in Fotomission’s 2008 South Beach Photomarathon Competition. 104 contestants were assigned 6 topics to photograph on South Beach over a period of 5 hours. At the finish line, only 4 photos per topic were submitted per participant, straight from the camera, with no allowance for post-digital editing or retouching.

Alissa Christine has been published in 944 Magazine, Ocean Drive, Florida Inside Out, Miami Modern Luxury, Art Basel, Egotrip, 6 degrees, Nikki Style and Public. Other projects include CD photography for musicians Inaia, Big Brooklyn Red, Elastic Bond, Sofy Encanto, Suénalo Sound System and commissioned work for So-Me Designs, Ola Restaurant, Carrousel Yacht and Penguin Hotel.Alissa Christine has been exhibiting and painting live in South Florida & NYC since 2005 and is the Artist in Residence at OLA/Sanctuary Hotel, South Beach.
