Miami: prepare to be wow-ed this December with a new and unique one-of-a-kind arts experience! From December 1-4, in the heart of the Wynwood Art District, you will be introduced to more than 120 of South Florida’s best as well as artists from all around the world. By encompassing almost 5,000 square feet, Multiversal will showcase their best visual and performance works under tented and open-air space in this can’t miss event.

Among our artists, you will find both established and emerging names from around the world. Their media will span fine arts, live art, sculpture, urban art, installations, photography, body painting, fashion and film festivals.

Around the artwork will swirl a vortex of belly dancers, BBOY’s, fire dancers, acrobats, exhibitionists, and extemporaneous theater — all to the rhythm of live and recorded music. Open to the public from Thursday-Sunday for an estimated 49 hours — more than any other scheduled Art Basel production — this will truly be a multiversal human experience.

The show will have a tented space and outdoor exhibit, conveniently located in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood Art District next to the Dorsch Gallery.

One of the best aspects of this show is that all of the money raised stays here in our community. Life Is Art, More Than Art Group and Multiversal Art Group are all dedicated to supporting the arts in south Florida. This sets it apart from many of the other shows.

“Get The Green Light” G*Spot Tour
www.gspotartproject.com for more info

(Miami, September 2011): Ten Miami-based Artists, Grolsch European Lager and curator Claire Breukel team up to give you the “go ahead” you’ve been waiting for. Wilder than the look on your face is Get The Green Light, an exhibition of ten works that make up the G-spot Tour. Are you blushing? This ambitious exhibition removed as many parameters as possible commissioning the artists to make work with just one rule: make anything and make it anywhere you want. The result is ten site-responsive works in ten different locations, just in time for the 10thanniversary of Art Basel Miami Beach. The exhibition opens with a G-spot VIP invite-only reception on November 10, 2011 at Ricochet bar and lounge and is supported in full by Grolsch European Lager.

The G-spot Tour is a scavenger hunt of 10 interactive and site-responsive murals and installations by artists Edouard Duval Carrie, Susan Lee Chun, Kerry Phillips, Domingo Castillo, Kyle Trowbridge, Loriel Beltran, TM Sisters, Pachi Guistinian and Grolsch SwingArtist 2011 Jaie Hwang. The tour spans 10 locations throughout Downtown, Wynwood Art District and the Design District, and include venues such as Little Haiti Cultural Center, Grand Central, the Historic Alfred Du Pont building, Dorsch Gallery, Ricochet, LegalArt, The Stage, Electric Pickle, Grand Central as well as public space (full map available for download on www.gspotartproject.com)

Without the hindrances such as limitation of space and concept eliminated, Get The Green Light serves as an open interface between the public, public space and artwork ultimately opening the way into a new chapter of interactive art. The result is ten dynamic and challenging art installations that push the boundaries of interaction to a new and inspired level, not only in the physical space but online as well. Visitors are invited to “find their G-spot” favorite by voting for their winner and posting pictures of their favorite artwork online at www.gspotartproject.com.

At a time when art becomes about everyone else coming to Miami, Get The Green Light has chosen to highlight artists working in Miami. Not only this, artists that are making work outside of convention modes of exhibition.

Filmmakers Wet Heat project, as part of Wet Heat TV, are creating a short movie of the Tour featuring a local cast and will debut at the opening event on November 10 at Ricochet bar and lounge.

The G*spot bike-ride will be organized in collaboration with Beached Miami and will take you by all 10 art-installations which will end at The Stage (date tbd).

Get The Green Light is made possible with the support of Grolsch, the Historic Alfred Du Pont building, Wet Heat TV, Alan Roth, Paul Jacober and Associates, Claire Breukel, Tina Acevedo as well as the participating artists and venues.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Miami Art Museum and Miami Dade College InterAmerican Campus Form Collaboration
to Bring More Meaningful Art Opportunities to Student Body

Partnership Supported by MetLife Foundation Museum and Community Connections Grant

MIAMI – February 28, 2011 – Miami Art Museum and Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus will collaborate on a project that will create a unique bridge between the world of academia and the arts. Centered around Miami Art Museum’s upcoming Rivane Neuenschwander: A Day Like Any Other exhibition, the partnership will increase access and arts opportunities for Miami Dade College students, both on campus and at the Museum. The collaboration is made possible with support from MetLife Foundation Museum and Community Connections grant.

This partnership was formed to enhance the Miami Dade College, InterAmerican Campus Arts Institute and to provide Miami Dade College students with special access to Miami Art Museum and Brazilian artist Rivane Neuenschwander. This partnership will create an on-campus satellite exhibition of Neuenschwander’s video, Quarta-Feira de Cinzas/Epilogue (Ash Wednesday/Epilogue), 2006, bring the artist to the InterAmerican Campus to lecture and speak with art students, introduce students to the arts as a professional career opportunity, and enhance art activities at InterAmerican Campus. Miami Art Museum will also host all Miami Dade College students for a special college night at the Museum.

“The summer collaboration between the Museum and MDC InterAmerican Campus will give our students a unique opportunity to meet the visiting artist, Rivane Neuenschwander, enjoy more art experiences by attending many of the activities at the campus and MAM, bring an awareness of career opportunities in the world of art, and most importantly, broaden their vision and appreciation of modern and contemporary art,” said Michaela Tomova, Chairperson of Communication, Arts & Philosophy Department at the MDC, InterAmerican Campus. “We all look forward to the summer art activities which will bring Miami Art Museum to our students and community.”

Only eight grants were awarded to museums for imaginative exhibitions and educational public programming that extend their reach in diverse communities, making art part of people’s lives. Miami Dade College has over 170,000 students overall and is recognized for meeting the multiple and unique needs of Miami’s diverse population.

“MetLife Foundation has long understood that the arts and art education play vital roles in progressive communities and are particularly important in promoting community cohesiveness within diverse populations,” said MAM Director Thom Collins, “While this initial program focuses on the InterAmerican Campus, just three miles from the Miami Art Museum, our hope is that this partnership will pave the way for other vital, long-term collaborations.”

Miami Art Museum’s collection and artistic focus reflect the diverse population of its region, and its wide-ranging and powerful educational outreach programming serves more than 30,000 annually. Miami Art Museum is always free for students, and docent-guided tours are provided to college and university groups, free of charge.

Exhibition organization and support
Rivane Neuenschwander: A Day Like Any Other has been organized by the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York in collaboration with Irish Museum of Modern Art.

The presentation of the exhibition at Miami Art Museum is supported by donations to MAM’s Annual Exhibition Fund and a MetLife Foundation Museum and Community Connections grant. Additional support for educational programming is provided by Espírito Santo Bank.

Rivane Neuenschwander: Quarta-Feira de Cinzas/Epilogue (Ash Wednesday/Epilogue) is organized by Miami Art Museum in conjunction with the exhibition Rivane Neuenschwander: A Day Like Any Other (July 17 – October 16, 2011). Support for the installation is provided by a MetLife Foundation Museum and Community Connections grant.

Our good friend, David Collado, has launched this really cool site to promote the arts, ArtBump.com. You go there and can post up stuff that you like, artists, galleries, arts events, live bands, anything art related. People can go and vote and discuss. Check it out! www.artbump.com

Press Release for the launch of ArtBump.com – Tuesday, August 4, 2009

A new website has been launched which taps the wisdom of crowds to discover, share, and promote (bump) the best art from across the web. The site functions like Digg.com but is curated to feature only stories related to art with emphasis on artists and their work.

The process is simple. Users first setup a member account on ArtBump.com and then proceed to vote on stories that have already been submitted by other members as well as submit their own art-related stories. And since the site is a work in progress, users can suggest new categories to the webmaster if they feel the current set of categories is lacking. There are also a number of social web features such as adding friends, creating groups of like-minded art appreciators, sharing stories through your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and more.

The vision for the site is to become a website that will blow you away on any given day with the most amazing artistic content and stories from across the web. One day, you might be amazed by a photographer in China, and the next you will be touched by a dance troop in Russia or a music video out of Brazil. By tapping the wisdom of crowds, ArtBump hopes to discover, share, and promote the best art and artists from across the web and from across the world.

Please visit ArtBump.com, setup an account, and start sharing and bumping stories. It’s easy and it’s good for the creative soul.

A CALL for ATTENTION about STOLEN Artwork
- dated July 18th. 2009 -
A big ‘Thank you’ to all our guests and friends during last Saturday’s Art & Design – Night.
We have been pleased and overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of our visitors that night. Somehow certainly a positive sign if consumer’s start again to please themselves to look at art and beauty…
However, in the night to Thursday July 16th., my gallery was the subject of a burglary, where technical equipment and some rare original paintings disappeared. Please help us with your confidential information in case you see one of these remarkable artworks offered by any seller – private, wholesale or retail.
Here is the link to my webpage and artist IRMALY, the stolen paintings are marked and easily distinctive due to the integrated frames and typical in style and color: Irmaly Brackin
All artwork is signed “IRMALY” in front and rear and each piece is very heavy (20-30 pounds) due to the used glass and resin… Thank you all for your kind attention and help !
Investigator Burglary Detective Dubionel ST.SURIN from the Miami Police Department can as well be reached under tel. 305-579-6034 for neutral contact. All stolen paintings are filed and future owners can be prosecuted.
