Voices United, (VU) a non-profit arts organization for children and youth, will be holding auditions for the 2011-2012 program on Saturday, October 15th, 2011 at The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Peacock Education Center of the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall. VU fosters cross-cultural understanding and youth action through creative expression, empowering our youth to become tolerant and caring leaders for a better future.

Singers, Visual Artists, Dancers, Graphic Artists, Photographers, Film Makers, Actors, Writers & Community Action Leaders, ages 10-18.

Saturday, October 15th, 2011. Elementary School Students at 10:00a.m., Middle School Students at 12:00p.m. and High School Students at 2:00p.m. Participants MUST submit audition materials to info@voicesunited.org by October 14, 2011. All participants MUST have ALL of the REGISTRATION FORMS completed and signed with them for their interview on October 15, 2011. How To Enter:
There is no cost to enter!

Photos can be emailed (framesusacontest@gmail.com) or brought into Frames USA (6822 sw 40th St Miami, FL 33155). Included with the photo should be the photographer’s name, age, address, phone number and an email address (if delivering in person).

All entries are due before midnight on November 15th, 2011 and voting will be closed on November 30th, 2011.

The contest is open to all genres of photography. From Nature, Pets, Cityscapes and Children to just about anything else you can capture with your camera. Photos must be tasteful! No pornographic or offensive material will be uploaded or entered into the contest. All photos must be original and uploaded by the photographer.

All photos submitted to the contest will be posted on Facebook within 48 hours from the day they are received. Any photos received after the deadline will not be entered. All submitted photos will be judged by the total number of “likes” received before the close of the contest. Contest is open to photographers of all ages and skill levels.

Only one entry per person per household. All gift certificates must be picked up in person at Frames USA within thirty (30) days of the end of the contest (before December 30th, 2011). Winners will be contacted via email no later than December 5th.

Life Is Art has joined forces with KAZILLA of Multiversal Group and Laura Forero of More Than Art Group to produce the Multiversal Art Fair during Art Basel 2011. Prior to that, we are also producing several pre-show fundraising events. Not only will these pre-shows make Multiversal better, they also allow us the opportunity to showcase more south Florida artists!

The next pre-show is on October 8th and is an afterparty for the very popular Wynwood Art Walk! Villa 221 provides a stunning location just blocks from Wynwood that features several gallery rooms, multiple bar areas and an outdoor patio where our live artists will be at work.

Fashion Photography “Photo Moda” Competition

Do you want your work shown in a gallery when thousands of art collectors will be in Miami for the Art Basel Miami Beach art show? GAB Studio is hosting its first annual Fashion Photography Competition. Contestants will be judged on (1) Photography, (2) Style, (3) Creativity, and (4) Composition. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will win a two-week long art show at GAB Studio. All winners will be able to display their work beginning on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 for an opening reception and during the world-renowned Second Saturday Art Walk in the Wynwood District on November 12, 2011, and ending on Sunday, November 19. The 1st place winner will also show at GAB Studio through the entire month of December, including the art show that coincides with Art Basel Miami Beach from December 1st – 4th. In addition, the 1st place winner will also win a one-day photo shoot in Miami complete with a celebrity stylist, hair and make-up, model, and equipment provided by ONESOURCE Studios. www.onesourcestudios.com The 1st place winner will also be eligible to receive accomodations provided by the Orchid Inn for a week-long stay in Miami.

How To Enter
Each contestant must submit 3 to 5 images of fashion photography per entry. The entry fee is $25. Contestants may choose to enter up to three additional images with their original entry for an additional $10 per image. Each individual entry may not exceed 8 images total. Contestants may enter up to three separate times. The images within each entry must correspond with one another as an editorial.

Each contestant must email: gabcontest@gmail.com and we will send you a submission form and a paypal request. Your entry will be officially received into the competition once both the submission form has been entered and the payment processed.

The deadline to enter is October 23, 2011. No more than 3 entries per person.

The City of Hialeah and the Cultural Affairs Council Presents the Second Annual Photography Contest

All photos entered will be evaluated by a panel of three judges.
The judges are professionals and teachers of photography.
Limit of One submissions per person.
Open to All Ages.

· Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There will be a reception and awards presentation on Friday, September 30th at 7 PM. The winner will have the option of displaying their piece in the Mayor’s Office for one year.
· The entry submitted must be at least 8 X 10 and ready for hanging. Please fill out the information below and submit with your entry.
· Entries are to be brought to the City of Hialeah’s City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 501 Palm Avenue, Hialeah, 3rd Floor, and Telephone: (305) 883-5820, between Wednesday September 21st and Monday September 26th. All entries must be at City Hall by 4pm on Monday, September 26th. (Late entries will not be accepted)
· Submissions can be picked up at 20 East 6th Street on October 3rd.
· Do not watermark or place any other distinguishing marks (i.e. name, copyright) on the image. Because the judging is an anonymous affair, an image cannot possess identifiable information.
· NO PHOTOSHOPPING or other digital manipulation. This contest is about photography, not about one’s expertise with a graphical application. This does not apply to photographic techniques contained within a camera’s abilities (i.e. a manual shutter release used at night to capture fireworks or moving traffic). Nor does it apply to CROPPING an image.
· NOTE: photos thought to be outside of the above criteria may be removed from consideration without the entrant being notified.
· Employees, council members or family members associated with the City of Hialeah will not be eligible to compete.
