SEMINAR: “Do-It-Yourself: Using Video to Gain Exposure and Build Community,” with video marketing expert Jessica Kizorek.

Video cameras are cheaper and more integrated in daily life than ever before. Just as digital photos have proliferated the way we communicate, video will reach a huge saturation rate in 2010.

Learn how to use the technology at your finger tips to create video communications that impact and build relationship with your target market. Watch the coolest gadgets in action and see successful case studies that increased sales by employing online video.

Video increases response rates when you learn how to use it to your advantage. YouTube has exploded as an online portal, but other social media platforms – Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Ning — make it easier than ever to send and receive videos through the Internet.

The seminar is free for both members and nonmembers; RSVP to enjoy a free drink and appetizers.

Your Support & Proposed County Budget
We need your help today!

1. DONATE TO SOBE ARTS NOW (Paypal Link): **Of course all of our planned artistic and educational programming, enhancing the quality of life in Miami-Dade County depends on the continued support from the community (that means all of us) through tax-deductible financial contributions and ongoing volunteerism. In 2008, 67% of children in our arts education programs received scholarship assistance making high level arts education available to all children regardless of their ability to pay (many talented and deserving children would not have otherwise been able to participate). Also, If we are to continue offering free or low cost professional concerts and revival of the historic Little Stage Theater with a new production series we need your direct support. Please make a tax-deductible donation online today – every dollar counts.

2. CONTACT YOUR COUNTY COMMISSIONER (PDF Form): **Much of our programming plans depends on the Board of Commissioners of Miami-Dade County reinstating the devastating cuts to the arts & culture in the upcoming fiscal year proposed county budget. Please contact your county commissioners of behalf of yourself and SoBe Institute of the Arts and insist that they continue too support arts education and performance through the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs. Keep in mind this proposal comes at a time when State support for arts & cultural has seen a 90% cut in funding and private giving has almost disappeared. The new proposed county budget would virtually eliminate all programs for the arts and culture resulting in either the complete loss of hundreds of our finest cultural organizations, or making childhood arts education and/or attending a concert or play only available to the wealthiest residents.
